CAMERIA COUNTY COURTHOUSE DANIEL GOUGHNOUR WILL NO. 456
In the name of God Almighty, I, Daniel Goughnour Senior of Conemaugh Township in the County of Cambria in the State of Pennsylvania. Being of weak in body but of sound mind, memory, and understanding, help me God for the same, and knowing the uncertainty of this life do and make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form as follow viz.
I recommend my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, and such worldly effects where with I have been helped I order given and disposed of as follow viz. Here I order and direct my executor hereinafter named to sale at public sale or outright, all and everything of my personal property as soon as possible after my deceased, except such and every article or articles that my beloved wife, Mary may see proper to retain for her own personal use for and during her natural life.
I will and bequeath unto my beloved son, Christian Goughnour all the plantation and tract of land on which the said Christian resides, containing eighty one acres more or less, he the said Christian paying one dollar for every acre for the same to be disposed of hereinafter to be mentioned.
I will and bequeath unto my son, Samuel Goughnour all the plantation and tract of land on which the said Samuel resides, containing seventy eight acres more or less, he the said Samuel paying one dollar for every acre of the same, to be disposed of hereinafter mentioned also to give to his mother, Mary, yearly and every year during her natural life, three bushels of wheat, and ten bushels of oats to take the wheat to the mill to be ground and return the flour and bran if requested so to do by his mother.
I give and bequeath unto my beloved son, Philip Goughnour, the plantation and tract of land on which I reside, containing one hundred and thirty four acres more and less, he the said Philip paying one dollar for every acre of the same to be disposed of as hereinafter mentioned also to give his mother, Mary, nine bushels of wheat, yearly and every year for and during her natural life the wheat to be taken to the mill and ground, and the flour and bran returned if requested to do so by his mother, also his mother is to have half the fruit that growns on the said farm, if she wishes it, also hay and stabling and pasture for one horse and cow yearly and every year, also to furnish her and deliver as much firewood ready cut as she may want during her natural life, also to have the use of the dwelling house wherein I now reside for her own personal use during her natural life.
I will and bequeath unto my beloved daughters, Elizabeth intermarried with Daniel Wissinger, Nancy intermarried with Daniel Cobaugh and Ester intermarried with Joseph Burkhart, share and share alike, the monies before mentioned to be paid by my sons Christian, Samuel and Philip and the amount of two notes on demand I hold payable to my sons Henry and Daniel Goughnour, viz. The eighty one dollars to be paid by Christian, the seventy eight dollars to be paid by Samuel, the one hundred and thirty four dollars to be paid by Philip, a note of Henry amounting to one hundred and two dollars, and a note of Daniel amounting to one hundred and six dollars, amounting to the whole to five hundred and two dollars the same to be paid share and share alike by my executor hereinafter mentioned to my said daughters, Elizabeth, Nancy, and Ester, one year after my deceased, without.
I will and bequeath unto my daughter, Susanna intermarried with Jacob Hildebrand the sum of one hundred and forty dollars, which was paid to her said husband at the time he bought the farm he now resides on as au equieva lent to the willed to Elizabeth, Nancy and Ester. I also order and direct that the proceeds of the sale of my personal property as directed, be put to interest and the interest thereof to be given to my beloved wife, Mary, yearly and every year during her natural life, and should it and with what I have already bequeathed and willed not be sufficient for her support yearly and every year then and in such case, she the said, Mary, may draw as much of the principal as she may want for her support and after her death so much as shall remain thereof, together with the sale proceedings from those article or articles she may have retained for her use, shall equally be divided share and share alike to and amoungst all my children namely, Elizabeth intermarried with Daniel Wissinger, Christian Goughnour, Henry Goughnour, Daniel Goughnour, Samuel Goughnour, Nancy intermarried with Daniel Cobaugh, Philip Goughnour, Susanna intermarried with Jacob Hildebrand and Ester intermarried with Joseph Burkhart.
Lastly inonunate constitute and appoint my beloved son, Samuel Goughnour, to be Executor of this my last will and testament, and empower him to execute title or titles to the said Christian Goughnour, Samuel Goughnour, and Philip Goughnour, and their heirs and assigns for the different tracts of land separately bequested as soon as the payments have been made agreeable to this title. Hereby working all wills by me here to fore made date.
