Henry Goughnour *
Christian Goughnour & Ann his wife, Abraham Gough-
nour, Adam Goughnour, Tobias Goughnour, Christian Hess and Catherine his wife &
Joseph Goughnour all of the Township of Conestoga & County of Lancaster in Pennsyl-
vania of the one part and John Goughnour of the same place of the other part.
WHEREAS the Honourable the Proprietaries of Pennsylvania by their patent
bearing date the fifteenth day of April A. D. 1761 for the Consideration therein
mentioned did give grant release & Confirm unto John Jacob Goughner (deceased) by
the Name of John Jacob Goughnour, Father of the said Jacob Goughnour, Christian
Goughnour Henry Goughnour, Abraham Goughnour, Adam Goughnour, Tobias Goughnour,
Catherine Hess the wife of Christian Hess & Joseph Goughnour(parties hereto) & ye
ad. John Goughnour, and to his Heirs a certain Tract of Land situate in the Town-
ship of Conestoga & County of Lancaster aforesaid.
BEGINNING at a marked ash Tree
on pequea Creek thence by land of Samuel Buyer West forty five perches to a marked
black Oak North West by West One hundred & seventeen perches and West twenty seven
perches to a post, thence by Land of Christian Stone North by West thirty five per-
ches to a marked black Oak, thence by Land of Hans Line East North East One hundred
and Twenty eight perches to a post, thence by Land of Christian Prenaman East South
East ninety six perches to a post on pequea Creek aforesaid thence down the ad.
Creek on the several Courses thereof One hundred and eight perches to the place of
Beginning containing One hundred & five Acres & the usual allowance.
To HOLD unto
& the use and Behoof of the ad. John Jacob Goughnour (deceased) his heirs and As-
signs forever in & by ye ad. patent, Recorded in the Office for Recording of
Deeds for the City and County of Philadelphia in Patent Book AA, Vol. 1 page 231 &c.
relation being thereunto had will more fully and at large appear
AND WHEREAS the
said John Jacob Goughnour the father dyed interstate leaving Issue behind him the ad.
John Goughnour, the eldest Son & Jacob Goughnour, Christian Goughnour, Henry Gough-
nour, Abraham Goughnour, Adam Goughnour Tobias Goughnour & Joseph Goughnour young-
est Son & Catherine Hess his Daughter who thereupon (according to an Act of General
Assembly of Pennsylvania became seized of & entitled unto ye above described Tract
of Land equally the eldest Son only taking a double share to the rest
NOW THIS
INDENTURE WITESSETH that ye ad. Jacob Goughnour & Margaret his wife Christian
Goughnour, Henry Goughnour & Ann his wife Abraham Goughnour and Adam Goughnour,
Tobias Goughnour, Christian Hess & Catherine his wife & Joseph Goughnour for and in
Consideration of the sum of One hundred and sixty five pounds lawful money of Penn-
sylvania to them or some one of them by the consent of the others in hand well and
truly paid by the ad. John Goughnour at or before the Execution hereof the receipt
and payment whereof is hereby acknowledge HAVE and each & every of them HATH grant-
ed bargained hold release & confirmed & by those presents DO and each & every of
them BOTH Grant bargain sell release & confirm unto ye ad. John Goughnour his Heirs
and Assigns.
All that Tract of parcel of Land being part of the above mentioned
& described Tract of Land.
BEGINNING at a Black Oak in ye line of Samuel Buyer's
Land thence by the same North West by West One hundred perches West twenty seven
perches to a post, North by West twenty six-perches to a black Oak East North East
forty two perches to a post East Ninety eight perches to post thence South
twelve degrees West One hundred perches to the place of Beginning containing Fifty
Acres of Land be the same more or less.
TOGETHER with all & singular the Houses
Feedings Woods Underwoods Ways Waters Watercourses Hedges
Out Houses Edefices Buildings Gardens Orchards Meadows Leasows pastures/ditches
Tract Fences Profits priviledges Advantages Bereitaments & Appurtenances whatsoever
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining & the reversion & reversions remain-
der and remainders thereof & all ye Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust property
possession Claim & demand whatsoever both at Law & in Equity of them ye ad. Jacob
Goughnour & Maragaret his wife Christian Goughnour, Henry Goughnour & Ann his wife,
Abraham Goughnour, Adam Goughnour, Tobias Goughnour, Christian Hess & Catherine his
wife and Joseph Goughnour or ither of them of in and to the same and every part
thereof
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract of Land containing Fifty Acres and
the Allowances Hereditaments and Preises hereby granted and release (or meant
mentioned or intended so to be) with the appurtenances unto the said John Goughnour
his Heirs and Assigsn,
To the only proper Use and Behoof of the said John
Goughnour his Heirs and Assigns forever at and under the proportional part of
the yearly quit rent hereafter to become due & payable to the Chief Lord or Lords of
the fee thereof
AND the said Jacob Goughnour & Margaret his wife, Chrisitian Gough-
nour, Henry Goughnour & Ann his wife, Abraham Goughnour, Adam Goughnour, Tobias
Goughnour, Christian Hess & Catherine his wife, and Joseph Goughnour for themselves
severally and for their several and respective Heirs Exrs. & Admrs. do hereby cove-
nant promise grant and agree to and with the ad. John Goughnour his Heirs and Assigns
in manner following, that is to say that he the said Jacob Goughnour and Margaret
his wife and his Heirs Christian Goughnour and his Heirs Henry Goughnour & Ann
his wife & his Heirs, Abraham Goughnour and his Heirs, Adam Goughnour and his Heirs
Tobias Goughnour and his Heirs, Christian Hess and Catherine his wife & her Heirs &
Joseph Goughnour & his Heirs and all ever other person & persons whomsover
lawfully claiming or to claim the ad. hereby granted premises with the appurteness
or any part thereof by from or under them or any or either of them shall and will at
any time or times hereafter at the request Cost & Charges of the ad. John Goughnour
his Heirs or Assigns make do acknowledge levy suffer perfect and execute or cause or
procure so to be all and every such further & other lawfull & reasonable Act & Acts
Deed and Deeds. Thing ad Things Conveyances and Assurances in the Law whatsoever
(be it by Deed Fine Common Recovery or other wise howsover for the further better
more sure perfect and absolutegranting conveying assuring making over & confirming
the said Promises hereby granted and all their and each every of their Estate
Right Title and Interest whatsover therein and thereto unto the ad. John Goughnour
his Heirs and Assigns forever, as by him or them or his or their Council learned in
the Law shall be reasonably advised or devised & required.

LANCASTER COUNTY SS: Before me Michael Hubley Esquire one of the Justices of the
County Corut of Common Pleas in and for the said County of Lancaster, pesonally ap-
peared Everrard Gruber Esquire one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within written
Indenture who upon his Solemn Affirmation according to Law, did declare and say that
he was present and did see the within named Jacob Goghenour and Margaret his wife,
Christian Gogenour, Henry Goghenour and Ann his wife, Abraham Goghneour, Adam Gogh-
enour, Tobias Gochenour Christian Hess and Caterhine his wife and Joseph Goghenour,
Seal and as their Act and Deed deliver the within written Indenture to and for the
uses and purposes therein mentioned and that his this Affirmants Name thereunto
subscribed is of his own proper hand writing and that he did see Peter Mosser sub-
scribe his Name as the other witness to such Sealing and delivery.
IN TESTIMONY
