HENRY RUSH & ) one BETWEEN John Goughenhour of the Township of Cones-
ADAM GOCHENOUR )
) toga & County of Lancaster in Pennslyvania yeoman and
Elizabeth his wife of the one part, and Henry Rush & Adam Goughenhour both of the
Township and County aforesaid yeoman of the other part.
WITNESSETH that the
said John Goughenhour & Elizabeth his wife for * in Consideration of the sum of Three
hundred & Ninety pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania to them or one of them in hand
well & truly paid by the said Henry Rush & Adam Goughenhour at & before the Execution
hereof the receipt & paymentwhereof they & each of them do hereby acknowledge &
thereof & of every part & parcel thereof do acquit release & forever discharge the
ad. Henry Rush & Adam Goughenhour their Heirs Exrs., Admrs, & Assigns by these pres-
ents HAVE & each of them HATH granted bargained sold alliened enfeoffed released &
confirmed & by those presents DO and each of them Doth grant bargain sell allien
enfeoff release & confirm unto the said Henry Rush & Adam Goughenhour theirs Heirs
and Assigns.
ALL that certain piece or parcel of Land situate & being in the
Township of Conestoga aforesd, containing in & bounded by the following lines &
Courses (to wit)
BEGINNING at a black Oak in the line of Samuel Buyers Land
thence by ye same North West by West One hundred perches West Twenty seven perches
to a post North by West twenty six perches to a black Oak East North East forty two
perches to a post East Ninety eight perches to a post thence South twelve degrees
West One hundred perches to the place of Beginning containing fifty Acres of Land
(It being part of a larger Tract of Land conatining One hundred & five Acres & the
usual Allowance for Roads which ye Honourable ye Proprietaries of Pennsylvania by
their patent bearing date ye fifteenth day of April A. D. 1761 for the Consideration
therein mentinoned did give grant release & convirm unto John Jacob Goughenhour (de-
ceased) by the Name of John Jacob Goughenhour Father of the ad. John Goughenhour
Abraham Goughenour*
(party hereto) Jacob Goughenhour Christian Goughenhour, Henry Goughenhour Adam
Goughenhour, Tobias Goughenohour, Catherine Hess the wife of Christian Hess & Joseph
Goughenhour, as in & by ye ad. patent, Recorded in the Office for Recording of Deeds
for the City & Couty of Philadelphia in Patent Book AA Vol. 1. page 231 &c. rel-
ation being thereunto had will more fully & at large appear
AND WHEREAS the ad.
John Jacob Goughenhour, the Father dyed Interstate leaving Issue behind him the ad.
John Goughenhour, the eldest Son & Jacob Goughenhour, Christian Goughenhour, Henry
Goughenhour, Abraham Goughenhour, Adam Goughenhour, Tobias Goughenhour & Joseph
Goughenhour youngest Son & Catherine Hess his Daughter, who thereupon (according to
an Act of General Assembly of Pennsylvania became seized of & entitled unto the above
mentioned Tract of One hundred & Five Acres of Land equally the eldest Son only tak-
ing a double share to the rest,
AND WHEREAS the ad. Jacob Goughenhour & Margaret
his wife, Christian Goughenhour, Henry Goughenhour & Ann his wife, Abraham Gough-
enhour, Adam Goughenhour, Tobias Goughenhour, Christian Hess & Catherine his wife &
Joseph Goughenhour by their Release bearing date the fourth day of November A.Domini
1760 for the Cosideration therein mentioned did give grant release and confirm unto
